Who we are

We are a group of students at Northumbria University, from different churches across the city, who are united to make Jesus known amongst our friends and fellow students.

If you are a Christian at Northumbria Uni, and want to find out about Christianity, you’re welcome to join us.

We are united in our shared belief of the doctrinal basis. A united shared beliefs of central truths of the Christian faith.

A weekly meeting to join in fellowship with other students. We have guest speakers and worship songs throughout to equip us with evangelism on campus, and help grow in your faith.

Where should I start reading the Bible?

The Gospels are a great place to start if you are new to the Bible. Very quickly they provide you with a grasp of the Bible's overall message.

We have a collection of total free Matthew, Luke, and John Gospels.

How do I find a good church?

As a CU we are not a church, but finding one that works for you is very important to do. In a new city this can be hard to do, so we are running a church search event during Fresher's week. This will have lots of information about local churches.

How can I start reading Christian literature? / I want to start a reading plan with someone.

If you would like to start exploring Christianity through literature and prefer reading with someone else we're happy to recommended books and offer reading partners.

Is the CU welcoming to non Christians / do I have to be Christian to join?

The CU is open to all students who have an interest in Christianity; at any stage in faith or non faith.
All students are welcome to join us and there is no obligation to take part in all the meeting if you don't feel comfortable with that yet.

What's changed with Covid-19?

Due to Covid we have been online for most of last year. Yet, with restrictions easing we have been able to move back to in person meetings for the last semester of the year.
God willing, we hope the restrictions remain eased and can "get back to normal" with in person meetings all year round.
